For 35 years, we’ve been able to recruit, screen, match, and support youth mentoring relationships that have changed the lives of thousands of young people across Acadiana! One-to-one matches between Bigs and Littles truly ignite potential, empower youth and strengthen communities. Professional staff from Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully build and support each match, and ensure it meets the strictest standards. We strive for matches that are not only safe and well suited to each child’s needs, but also harmonious and built to last.
A study for Big Brothers Big Sisters found that kids matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister:
✓ are more confident
✓ are more likely to steer clear of drugs and alcohol
✓ do better in school
✓ get along better with their family and friends
✓ feel better about themselves
REQUIREMENTS:
be between the ages of 6 & 17 years old.
make a minimum of a 12-month commitment.
must reside in Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion, Iberia, Acadia or Evangeline parish
Class times offered on July 28th at 12 and 6:30 pm and August 4th at 12 and 6:30 pm.
