Local Princess Parade Could Be Coming to Your Neighborhood!

Headed By The Lafayette Princess

April 9, 2020

So many Lafayette businesses are coming to the rescue to cure boredom and provide entertainment in a socially distant way. The Lafayette Princess is no exception either and they are doing it big!

During the COVID-19 pandemic, local Katelyn H. Guidry (former co-owner of The Storybook Headquarters, a princess party company) wanted to do something to bring joy to children during this time. Thus The Lafayette Princess was created. The Lafayette Princess will be organizing "Princess Parades" through local neighborhoods, giving children the chance to see either Cinderella or Belle while practicing good social distancing. She will also be uploading story times with both princesses to Facebook where parents can watch with their children, as well as Facebook Live for some Princess Q&A.

Princess Parade April 10th at 5:00 PM:

We have our route for the first Princess Parade tomorrow, April 10th at 5:00 PM. Start times are listed below as well as a link to access the parade route in your subdivision.

5:00 PM Southfield Subdivision (Broussard, LA)

5:15 PM Cypress Meadows (Broussard, LA)

6:00 PM Sawgrass entering from E Broussard (Lafayette, LA)

6:30 PM Sawgrass entering from E Milton Ave (Lafayette, LA)

These times are approximates, and we hope to stay on schedule as best we can.

If your neighborhood is not listed, don't worry! We will have more parades coming soon or you may drive your car and park in a safe area to view the parade. Please be respectful of speed limits, traffic and other neighborhood rules.

PLEASE PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING! We cannot stress this enough. The goal of the Princess Parade is to share some magic during this difficult, scary time while also following guidelines put in place to stop the spread and flatten the curve. If you do not practice social distancing, we will be unable to continue parades. We are asking that ONLY families in the same household gather together to view the princess and do not gather with neighbors. Please stay in your own vehicles or within the vicinity of your home.

Unfortunately, our princess is unavailable for pictures with your children and will not be stopping in order to have as much time to see as many friends as possible. Therefore, please do not approach the vehicle.
