The Opelousas Imperial Mardi Gras Parade is scheduled to roll on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The parade, which is being organized by the Opelousas Imperial Mardi Gras Association, will feature reigning royalty, floats,beads,festive throws, and a whole lot more. The Opelousas Imperial Mardi Gras Association (OIMGA) is honored to announce Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, Gregg Martinez who will serve as Grand Marshal for this year parade. Gregg is an American rhythm and blues singer and purveyor of the South Louisiana genre called Swamp Pop.
The Parade will begin on East Landry St. (US 190 Westbound) at the intersection of Landry St. & Academy St. The parade will proceed west on Landry Street until it intersects with Liberty Street. The parade will then make a right turn on Liberty Street headed north until it intersects with a Grolee Street. The parade will then make a right turn on Grolee Street headed east until it reaches Waillior St. where the parade will disband at Tiger Trax Exxon.
