Join us at Vermilionville on Sunday, February 16th, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, as we bring a traditional, country Mardi Gras run to the city during our annual Courir de Mardi Gras in conjunction with the Basile Mardi Gras Association. Bring a bag of Mardi Gras beads to donate and receive $1 off the cost of admission. Admission for the Courir de Mardi Gras is $5 (members pay $4). There is no charge for children under 3.
“This is our heritage, culture and tradition. This is us. This is how we’ve always done it – go out and beg, sing, dance and hopefully get everything we need for a gumbo,” explains Russell “Potic” Rider, President of the Basile Mardi Gras Association.
