Four weeks of fun, in English or in French (perfect for keeping those Immersion students on point), for ages 5-8 and 9-12. Get your kids out of the house and into history, nature, art, food (yes, there is tomahawk throwing, closely supervised!) and more.

Vermilionville will be hosting our 16th annual Summer Camp series in just a few short months! Each week is custom-crafted for age and language in order to provide skill-level appropriate demonstrations and hands-on craft opportunities for your camper!

Summer Camp dates for 2026:
Week 1: English; Ages 5 – 8: June 15 – 19
Week 2: English; Ages 9 – 12: June 22 – 26
Week 3: French; Ages 5 – 8: July 6 – 10
Week 4: French; Ages 9 – 12: July 13 – 17
Every week provides your camper the opportunity to:
* Explore our historic village and learn about what life was like for the Acadians, Native Americans, Creoles and people of African descent in the years between 1770 and 1890.
* Learn about our natural resources including plants, animals, nature, and the bayous and waterways of south Louisiana by canoeing, fishing, and more.
* Work with our artisan-interpreters and musicians to learn about their crafts and history.
We’ll do some favorites from past years, such as tomahawk throwing, as well as lots of exciting, new activities!
Each week ends with a celebration day for parents and siblings (12:00-1:30 PM on Friday.)

Registration covers all hands-on crafts, all activities, food, and the Vermilionville camp T-shirt.
The total cost for each week is $300 per week. Additional siblings who register for camp will receive a $50 discount off the final balance.
There is a required minimum deposit of $150 upon registration.

Business Review

“My son talked about the camp more than he did about regular school in a year! He mentioned many of the activities: rope making, cotton, dancing, the musical triangle, the tomahawk throwing. The camp was run by a wonderful group of young, enthusiastic, nice, patient, people! Very impressed!”
“These are the best crafts of any camp my daughter attends! This is our second year and I was concerned it would be a repeat of last year. I was pleasantly surprised at the differences.”
