Adventures Begin at the 2024 Summer Reading Kickoff!
This summer, Adventure Begins at Your Library when you sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge! Embark on a reading journey with the Lafayette Public Library and win a prize pack along the way.
The annual community challenge begins in less than a month, and that means the kickoff celebration is just around the corner too!
The Summer Reading Challenge Kickoff Celebration will be on Saturday, June 1, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Main Library and Parc Putnam. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge and enjoy a day of fun activities, including a fun jump, petting zoo, balloon artistry, face painting, and live performances by Mitch the Magician.
The Lafayette Public Library is challenging everyone to read at least 20 minutes every day between May 24 and July 31. A range of reading materials can count towards your goal, including books, audiobooks, magazines, graphic novels, and more. Reading to a non-reader can be logged as well!
Those who read at least 30 days during this period will win a prize pack and be entered into a drawing for the grand prize. Reading 50 days earns the challenger another prize and an additional entry for the grand prize drawing.
Participants can log the days they read with the physical log or keep track of their progress online at lafayettepubliclibrary.org/beanstack. Prizes can be picked up at any library location starting June 22.

The Summer Reading Kickoff is held in partnership with Broussard, David & Moroux. Sponsors include Acadiana FunJump, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, and Republic Services.
