Are you looking for a worthy resolution for 2024? Look no further than our 100 Book Club!
Lafayette Public Library’s annual reading challenge calls on patrons to read or listen to at least 100 books between January 1 and December 31, which would earn them prizes, recognition, and bragging rights.
Membership in this exclusive club is for life. However, prizes are only rewarded when a member meets the 100-book goal, which can be done yearly.
Participants can visit their favorite Lafayette Public Library location to sign up in person. They will then receive a personal reading log to keep track of what they are reading throughout the year. They can also sign up online at lafayettepubliclibrary.beanstack.org<http://lafayettepubliclibrary.beanstack.org/>. Registration begins January 2.
Club membership is open to readers, ages 6 and older. Members must read or listen to the titles themselves. Readers can sign up to join at any time of the year, but only books that have been read or listened to by December 31, 2024, will be counted.
What counts as reading material in this challenge? Paperbacks, hardbacks, large print books, graphic novels, eBooks, audiobooks, and eAudiobooks all count. However, magazines and comic books do not count. Only elementary school-age participants can count picture books on their list.
Once participants have met the 100-book pledge, they must go to the library to have their reading log verified and fill out the Prize Claim Form. Members can also submit a photo of their completed book log to 100bc@lafayettepubliclibrary.org<mailto:100bc@lafayettepubliclibrary.org> to receive their Prize Claim Form by email.
Book logs should be submitted no later than Tuesday, December 31, 2024, along with a completed Prize Claim Form. Prizes will be available at the pick-up library location of the member’s choice.
