Woman’s Foundation is bringing back Kids on the Geaux, every Monday in October! It is now combined with a brand new curriculum called CATCH, which is evidence-based and results proven.
Kids on the Geaux is a healthy living program to address increasing childhood obesity in Acadiana for youth and adolescents. This program provides fitness, nutrition and behavior modification information in an engaging and challenging manner. Through the combination of these three topics students learn lasting habits that will keep them healthy for a lifetime.
Behavioral sessions discuss topics such as self-esteem, setting goals and positive attitudes. Nutritional sessions address making better choices, portion sizes and healthy snack ideas for school and home. Both behavioral and nutritional sessions instruct students to be open minded on trying new and healthier options. The fitness session includes fun games and fitness activities introducing fun ways to be active.
Join us 2 hours each Monday in October for some fun virtual games that will include random household items and nutrition education. Instructors are ready to show families how being healthy can be fun and easy to navigate! Cost per participant is $35. Online registration is required: http://bit.ly/kotg2020
