The Butterfly Effect Project

November 20, 2019

We accept community donations of new and gently used prom dresses and give them at no cost to high-school girls. - In 2017 New Day Community Outreach acquired what has been known for a decade as “The Cinderella Project of Lafayette” and renamed it, The Butterfly Effect. For years, UL Americorp did a phenomenal managing the project and hosting the huge annual dress giveaway along with several pop-up events. Managing this project is no easy task! Storing dresses, coordinating volunteers, donations and more became unsustainable for UL Americorps. New Day Community Outreach was ready to step up and accept the challenge. Although we were not expecting to add a dress giveaway to our mission, we knew the project HAD to continue! After careful consideration, we decided to rename the project- The Butterfly Effect and set out on a mission to truly Transform Lives!  Today, we are proud to say hundreds of girls have been served since 2017 and our dress giveaway is one of Acadiana’s most anticipated events!

Our fundraisers to support the mission are held throughout the year and we NEED the communities help! Please follow our Facebook page by clicking here to stay up to date with our events.

The mission of The Cinderella Project is to support young adults statewide with resources that may not exist for them otherwise. Our goal is to provide educational outreach and community-based projects that are designed to build confidence and self-esteem for young adults.

Butterfly Effect Project accepts donations of new/gently used formal dresses and accessories. Contact our Event Coordinator Robert Doucet for more info 850 512 8502 by call or text.
