By Sherry Hernandez Community Liaison Miles Perret Cancer Services September 9, 2019

Acadiana Karate and Miles Perret Cancer Services (MPCS) are teaming up once again to present the 15th Annual Kicks for Miles Break-A-Thon which will be held at Acadiana Karate, 2464 West Congress Street in Lafayette on Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Acadiana Karate students will break thousands of boards in front of a live audience using their signature karate kicks, chops, and jabs.  Boards are being pre-sold for $5.00 each with proceeds benefitting MPCS.Over $250,000 has been raised since the event started in 2005, helping thousands of Acadiana cancer patients fight, survive and live with cancer.

“We love giving our students the opportunity to learn how to give back to our community by using their unique talents as martial artists. The students love using what they’ve learned in class to break their boards,” said Sensei Stacey Knight Mejia, owner of Acadiana Karate. “Plus, we love the fact that all of the money raised stays right here in Acadiana!”

Boards can be purchased by calling Acadiana Karate at (337) 233-8838.
