Officials from AOC Community Media announce that applications are officially open for Ready.Set.Make! Camp 2019, a youth oriented media education program in partnership with Southern Screen Film Festival, CREATE Lafayette and AOC Community Media.
“AOC’s mission is to build an informed and engaged community through media, technology and education. Ready.Set.Make! is an engaging hands-on opportunity for students to learn the creative and technical processes involved in producing a narrative short film,” said Ed Bowie, Executive Director.
“Twelve students will be selected to participate in an exciting week of production training designed to grow and develop their skills, under the guidance of AOC production professionals,” stated Julie Bordelon, Executive Director with Southern Screen Film Festival. “The training week will be followed up with weekly lab sessions that will support participants through the creation of their own productions. All student films produced during camp will compete for a chance to premiere at Southern Screen Festival 2019!”
This camp is ideal for students with high interest and/or experience in media production. Please share the application information with students whom you believe may be interested and well-deserving of this opportunity! Scholarships are available and awarded based on financial need. The deadline to apply is June 3, 2019.
