First Baptist of Lafayette presents The Singing Christmas Tree

By Dennis Clark Minister of Media First Baptist Church November 27, 2018

First Baptist Lafayette will present THE SINGING CHRISTMAS TREE December 14 – 17. The four performances will be at the church at 1100 Lee Avenue in downtown Lafayette.

THE SINGING CHRISTMAS TREE is a a favorite holiday event in Acadiana, dating back to the mid-1980s. The tree is about 30 feet tall, and the choir performs while standing in the tree. It’s covered with over 100,000 lights that are computer controlled for a fantastic light show.

Music will include many Christmas carols along with a few newer songs for the Christmas season.  The children’s, youth, and adult choirs will be accompanied by the church orchestra. Both drama and video will also be used in this family-friendly production.

Tickets are free and available at www.fbclaf.org. Performances are Friday, December 14, and Monday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 15, and Monday, December 16, at 3.:00 p.m.
