How To Make Kinetic Slime

By Jennifer Ercoli - Publisher Macaroni Kid Lafayette & Caleb Ercoli (son) November 7, 2018

Kids love slime! Face it, they do. And most of us have made different variations of it for a while now. Two summers ago Macaroni Kid made a simple version of slime at a local camp with 44 campers and although it was fantastic and the kids loved it there were a few kids with gloopy slime stuck all over them. We were worried their parents might be disappointed. Although we never heard anything else about it we decided the following year to provide a version that was a little less runny and more solid. And you can actually use cookie cutters to make shapes with it. It won't hold forever but it's fun while you are playing. We tried the recipe at home to be sure it was a winner and my own kids fell in love! Caleb couldn't wait to make this video and show everyone how to do it. We made it last Sunday before the Saints played the Rams so we had to make it black and gold in honor of our favorite team. Enjoy!

Recipe:

1 cup fine grain sand

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon liquid soap (clear won't change the color of your sand)

1 cup of white glue

1/3 cup liquid starch

What to do: Mix cornstarch and sand. Then add in the liquid soap. Once that is mixed well drop in your white glue and liquid starch. Mix until you reach your desired consistency. Easy peasy!
