Macaroni Kid sponsored a book giveaway at Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at
Moncus Park last Saturday. Five lucky children won a book written by a local children’s author.
The authors donated the books as part of an on-going project to promote reading in Acadiana.
Thank you to Macaroni Kid for making this August promotion possible. Books donated
were Tee Blanc Sambeaux, by Amy Bernard; Bayou Song: Creative Explorations of the South
Louisiana Landscape by Margaret Simon; Do you Know How Much Your Mama Loves You? and
Mama Do You Know? by Sarah Boutte; and What’s Watching Me? and Other Animal Stories by
Nancy Rust and Carol Stubbs. Thank you to all who participated in this event.
The Kid’s Corner at Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market is held the last Saturday of
each month. Join local authors and listen to a story or participate in fun activities related to their
books.
Kid’s Corner is sponsored by the Acadiana Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a
part of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Louisiana/Mississippi region.
