Maker Oats - A Quick & Nutritious Breakfast

By Jennifer Ercoli - Publisher Macaroni Kid Lafayette August 15, 2018

On August 4th we had the pleasure of handing out 500 samples of Maker Overnight Oats at the 2nd Annual Back To School Bash. I myself was able to sample the product prior so that I knew exactly what it tasted like and how to prepare it. Honestly, there could not have been a better product to sample at this particular event. Why? Because it makes breakfast SO much easier, delicious, and nutritious than ever before.

I should start off by letting you all know that Maker Overnight Oats are USDA organic, vegan, non-GMO with no sugar added. That almost sounds to good to be true, right? I can say for certain it is not. There are several different flavors offered to fit anyone's taste buds: apple & coconut, banana & coffee, and mulberry & chia. The best part about this product is the ease of preparing. Right before heading off to bed simply pour your oats in a jar and add milk (soy, dairy, almond). Shake it and put it in the fridge. In the morning you eat it as is. Easy peasy. Wouldn't it be wonderful to wake up the kids and begin preparing yourself for the day because you know all they have to do is head to the fridge with a spoon? That's what I did this morning! My kids did give me a strange look when I told them to eat cold oatmeal as that was a new concept to them. However, once they pushed through their fears (lol) they enjoyed the oatmeal. And if for some reason we are leaving late for school they can eat it in the car.

If your family likes to explore new ways to prepare food this is a great product to use. For example: when the recipe calls for quick oats trying adding Maker Overnight Oats. By doing so you will be adding the perfect combination of oats, fruits, nuts, seeds, and spices to your recipe. Wondering what to try it in? Muffins, pancakes (we have an oatmeal pancake recipe that works perfectly), and cookies!

We made a simple soft oatmeal cookie recipe and instead of adding 3 cups of quick oats we dumped three servings of Maker Overnight Oats and they were delicious!
