Twinkle Light Night
Christmas comes to the Children’s Museum of Acadiana on Decembebr 8th! Twinkle Light Night is filled with hands-on, old fashioned holiday activities for the whole family! Write a letter, visit, and take pictures with Santa. Decorate sugar cookies, mix a batch of Reindeer food in Ranch Outlet's Wee Acres exhibit, learn to make snow, decorate a stocking, take a break at the hot cocoa station, make holiday crafts, enjoy entertainment by CAJUN ABC (River Road Press) author Ricky Pittman and illustrator Alexis Braud. Become an "elf" in Santa's toy shop or bake a batch of cookies in Mrs. Claus' kitchen. Build a “sweet” race car and race it on the CMA’s custom built “Graham Prix” track in our very first Gingerbread Derby. Supplies will be furnished! Children will receive a keepsake Twinkle Light Night ornament. All activities included in admission and exhibits will be open for play. Admission: Members $3 person; Non-members $8 per person. 12 months and under are free. Tickets available at the door or pre-purchase (makes a great gift) at the CMA. Come dressed in your Christmas pajamas - it's merry making - it's memory making - it’s Christmas at the CMA!
NEW YEAR’S NOON AND CARNIVAL COUNTDOWN AT THE CHILDREN’S MUSEUM OF ACADIANA
At the stroke of twelve noon on New Year’s Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2017, there is only one place in Acadiana where a family can dance in a confetti blizzard, see not one prize ball drop but 6 prize balls drops, play old fashioned carnival games, grab a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and go o fishin’; scream Happy New Year at the top of your lungs repeatedly in a sea of confetti or balloons; make crafts; win prizes at carnival booths and visit the best kid’s museum around!
New Year’s Noon the only kids’ event to say good-bye to 2017 and hello to 2018 will be held from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Children’s Museum of Acadiana. Admission: $1 Members; $8.00 non-members. Carnival tickets for outside activities are 25 cents each. Food and Beverages available for purchase. Bring the entire family. Support the museum. Celebrate the New Year. Have fun.
