Yogurt Drops: A Healthy Snack Your Kids Will Love!

By Tracy Gallagher, Hopewell Junction Macaroni Kid January 17, 2014
Homemade yogurt drops are a quick and easy snack for the whole family! It's also a sneaky way to get kids to eat yogurt, even if they don't normally like it. Your kids may even tell you it tastes like ice cream. Score one for mom!

Ingredients:
  • Freezer safe baking sheet
  • Parchment, wax or freezer paper
  • Sandwich bag or pasty bag
  • Scissors (if using the sandwich bag)
  • Yogurt flavor of your choice
Directions:

Line baking sheet with parchment, wax or freezer paper. This step makes removing the drops much easier!

Scoop the yogurt into the sandwich or pastry bag and close. If using a sandwich bag, use the scissors to snip off one of the corners so you can pipe the yogurt out on the baking sheet.

Gently pipe the yogurt onto the lined baking sheet making “blobs” (you determine the size!). Place in the freezer for at least an hour.

When the drops are frozen, remove gently and store in a container with a lid. These will melt quickly so store any leftovers in the freezer.

Experiment with different types and flavors of yogurt.

The batch pictured is made with mango whipped yogurt. You can even use food coloring to change the yogurt's color. Try Greek yogurt with a little bit of food coloring. It's super fun and the kids will get a kick out of it!
