Description

The trail sits on 20 acres of Cajun woods and is located on Cameron Street in Scott. The trail has been consistently rated as Louisiana's #1 Haunted Trail. Clowns, masked maniacs with chainsaws, and zombies are just a few of the spooks you'll find in the woods.

But Fright Trail is more than just a great place to get spooked; it's also the primary supporter of local non-profit, Literacy, Inc.

Literacy, Inc. was founded in 2007 by award-winning author and entrepreneur Deborah LeBlanc. Since its inception, its mission has been to fight the growing illiteracy rate in Louisiana's teens. The organization meets with school assemblies, distributes free books, and gives students the opportunity to win funds for college. Looking to find a way to raise funds for the organization, LeBlanc teamed up with Richard Hanf, a seasoned haunted attraction professional with more than 35 years of experience in the field; the two created Fright Trail and began to tackle the problem of illiteracy in Louisiana teens.

Funds generated by Fright Trail's ticket sales are used to purchase electronic tablets that are then donated to Louisiana high school students. In 2015, Literacy, Inc. donated nearly 150 tablets to Comeaux High School and several more to Acadiana High School. In honor of its 5th year of fear, Fright Trail hopes to raise enough funds to double last year's donation.

Fright Trail is open every Friday and Saturday in October as well as all of Halloween weekend. The box office opens at 7:00PM and closes at 11:00PM and the trail stays open until the last customer leaves.
