AOC Community Media’s camps invite young creators to dive into hands‑on media arts experiences that spark imagination and build real production skills. Participants explore the art of storytelling through two immersive tracks: Stop Motion Animation Camp, where ideas come to life frame by frame, and Cinebites: 3‑Minute Film Camp, where fast‑paced filmmaking turns big concepts into bold short films. Each camp provides the tools, techniques, and guided practice needed to transform creative ideas into polished visual stories.
Stop Motion Animation Camp:
Unleash your creativity this spring at our Stop Motion Animation Camp for ages 10–15, the week of April 6th - 10th, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.
Explore the enchanting world of storytelling as you transform your imagination into captivating animations, frame by frame. With the guidance of expert instructors, you'll learn essential skills like crafting props and characters, storyboarding, writing simple scripts, and mastering stop motion techniques using DragonFrame Animation software. At the end of this camp, the students will have completed a 1 - 2 minute stop motion animation. Whether you're a budding filmmaker or an art enthusiast, this immersive camp will ignite your passion for animation and provide hands-on experience to bring your stories to life. CineBites - 3 Min Film Camp:
Make your cinematic debut this summer at CineBites 3-minute film camp for ages 12 - 17, the week of June 1st - 5th or June 6th - 12th.
Step into the fast‑paced world of filmmaking as you turn big ideas into bold stories—told in just three minutes. In CineBites: 3‑Minute Film Camp, young creators learn how to shape a concept, write a tight script, plan dynamic shots, and bring their vision to life on camera. With hands‑on guidance from experienced filmmakers, participants explore directing, acting, cinematography, and editing, all while collaborating to produce a polished short film from start to finish.
CineBites registration is free and supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the Acadiana Center of the Arts.
