TreesAcadiana, in partnership with Parish Proud, will bring together volunteers, civic organizations, and environmental partners for the 2026 Arbor Day Celebration at Graham Brown Memorial Park (1234 E. Pont des Mouton Road). This annual event will unite community members of all ages to plant and mulch more than 20 native trees in a new grove and along public paths, while also celebrating Louisiana’s Arbor Day through family-friendly learning stations and educational booths. Volunteers will work alongside trained planting leaders to ensure each tree is planted with proper care, supporting long-term growth and resilience throughout the park.
“The Bayou Vermilion Preservation Association (BVPA) is excited to celebrate Arbor Day again this year because we see firsthand how trees positively impact our waterways. Trees act like natural stormwater sponges, protecting water quality, reducing runoff, and preventing erosion. We can’t wait to join TreesAcadiana in planting more trees this year!” - Jenee Dansdill,President, BVPA
