LPSS Announces 2025 Principals of the Year

The Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS) proudly announced its 2025 Principals of the Year during the December principals’ meeting, recognizing exemplary leadership that drives student success and school culture across the district.

The honorees are:

  • Elementary Principal of the Year: Mia Lemaire, Principal, L. Leo Judice Elementary School
     With more than three decades in education and a decade leading L. Leo Judice Elementary, Mrs. Lemaire has fostered a warm, family-oriented culture that emphasizes academic engagement and community connection at the school.

  • Middle School Principal of the Year: Amber Oubre, Principal, Edgar Martin Middle School
     Mrs. Oubre leads Edgar Martin Middle School with a focus on academic excellence and positive school climate. She has a strong record of teaching and leadership experience within LPSS and was appointed principal after serving the district in instructional and administrative roles. 

  • High School Principal of the Year: Dr. Holly Boffy, Principal, W.D. & Mary Baker Smith Career Center
     Dr. Boffy guides the Career Center in preparing students for technical careers and postsecondary success. Under her leadership, the Career Center has grown in student population and continues to expand career and technical education opportunities that empower students with real-world skills. 

Superintendent Francis Touchet, Jr. shared his pride in the district’s leadership:

“Student success starts at the top. The growth and culture at each of these campuses is a testament to their leadership. LPSS is fortunate to have such strong principals, and these three ladies represent the best of the best.”
