Heidi Schreck—who wrote the play--earned her college tuition by winning constitutional debate competitions across the United States.
This boundary-breaking play breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans. Schreck shaped these experiences into a hilarious, hopeful and achingly human play. What the Constitution Means to Me opened off Broadway, moved to Broadway, and then had an extended run at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A national tour followed.
