Our family recently spent an unforgettable evening at Topgolf Lafayette, and it’s safe to say—it’s going into our regular rotation for family nights!
It was me and my three oldest (ages 16, 15, and 13), plus a friend of my oldest who’s 17. We arrived at 7 p.m., ready for some friendly competition—and if there’s one thing my family doesn’t take lightly, it’s bragging rights. The boys were talking smack the entire ride there; each convinced they’d take home the win.
At Topgolf, you can choose from a variety of interactive games designed for every skill level, but we kept it classic with the standard game—earning points for hitting into the color-coded targets out on the range. Each player gets five swings per turn, which keeps things moving and the energy high.
I’ll admit, my first round was... not my finest moment. But once I figured out my swing, I was consistently driving straight down the middle and racking up points like a pro. By the end of the second round, I proudly took home the “Gold” (as my kids would say, lol). The boys, on the other hand, learned the hard way that golf isn’t baseball—power doesn’t always equal precision! Next time, I might just schedule a quick lesson with one of Topgolf’s pros before we start.
Our bay was open to the fresh air and overlooked a wide patch of green—perfect for families with younger kids who might want to stretch their legs between turns. The space felt relaxed, fun, and perfect for all ages, whether you’re competing or cheering from the couch seating.
And let’s talk about the food—because Topgolf’s menu is not your average game-day grub. We shared a sampler with mac ‘n’ cheese bites, pretzel bites, mini chicken sandwiches, and chips with salsa—plenty to keep three of us happy all evening. The boys devoured their burgers and declared them “amazing.” We wrapped up the night with Topgolf’s signature donut hole-in-one's, filled on the spot with raspberry and cream. They were a sweet addition!

Our server was fantastic, checking in often (which, with thirsty teens, was a must). Between the great food, the laughs, and a few “Did you see that shot?!” moments, two hours flew by faster than one of those 200-yard drives.
Topgolf Lafayette truly lives up to its motto of “Everyone’s game.” Whether you’re celebrating, competing, or just looking for something different to do, it’s the perfect place to connect, play, and create lasting memories.
We’re already planning our next visit—and this time, the reigning champ (that’s me!) plans to defend her title.
