Safe@Home Program - Teaching Teens to Stay Home Alone Safely

By Sally Sabandith / Communications Coordinator / Woman's Foundation October 13, 2020

Woman’s Foundation is debuting the Safe@Home program this month on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. We are offering this virtual class at an exclusive, first time rate. Participants only have to pay for the required booklet.

Safe@Home is a 90-minute program designed for students in grades 4-6 to help prepare them to be safe when they are home alone. The program teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Each student is required to have a Safe@Home student booklet to participate.

Registration on Eventbrite is required to secure your seat online. The cost of registration will cover Safe@Home booklet. Parents can pick up booklets on October 21, 2020 at Woman's Foundation 4630 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Suite 100, Building A, Lafayette, LA 70508. The book can also be mailed if registered by October 16, 2020.
