Cajun Heartland State Fair

The CAJUNDOME & Convention Center is pleased to announce the

Cajun Heartland State Fair from May 23 through June 2, 2019, at the CAJUNDOME. The 11-day event is

presented by LUS & Coca Cola and features the exciting KATC TV3 Midway with thrilling rides for all ages

in addition to Lagniappe Lane, presented by News 15 & Townsquare Media, featuring free family attractions

and more.


In order to create a safer, family-friendly environment a the Cajun Heartland State Fair, the previous $10

parking fee has been waived to offer free parking at Cajun Field. New in place this year, is a $3 admission

fee for guests ages 3 and up. After researching numerous fairs and festivals around our area and abroad that

have switched to the admission fee model, we feel that this will best foster the safe, family friendly

environment that guests want and are accustomed to when attending CAJUNDOME events. Families are

encouraged to visit the Fair website to take advantage of some great admission and ride discounts available

throughout the fair.


The Fair has also partnered with Coca Cola to offer guests additional ways to save on admission. Coca Cola

will be releasing their all new festival wristband bottles at area retailers on May 13. Guests that show the

Coca Cola wristband on opening night, May 23, will receive free admission into the Fair, or $1 off admission

any other night of the Fair. Guests can also receive free admission into the Fair on the nights of May 28-30

by donating two canned goods to the BIG102.1 Together We “Can” Food Drive benefiting Acadiana’s

FOODNET.


Half-priced ride sheets can be purchased now through May 23 at 5PM at participating Shop Rite locations. A

list of participating Shop Rite locations will be available on the CAJUNDOME Fair website. Ride sheets will

also be available on-site during the fair at the regular price of $25 and includes 20 ride tickets.

Ride wristbands will be available nightly with the exception of Friday, May 24, and will be valid on the day

of purchase from open to close. Ride wristbands can be purchased on the fairgrounds for $30 each, with the

exception of opening night when they are only $20 each. Guests can purchase a Memorial Day ride

wristband for only $20 each at the CAJUNDOME Box Office, now through Sunday, May 26th. Ride

wristband Mega Passes are also available for $70, which includes three wristband vouchers that you can use

individually on different fair nights or use all three on one night to help your family ride for less. Guests can

also listen to their favorite radio or TV stations for a $5 off ride wristband coupon code or join the

CAJUNDOME Insiders on cajundome.com for exclusive offers and discounts.


Lagniappe Lane, presented by News 15 and Townsqaure Media, will include some new free on-site

entertainment from the World of Wonders big top show featuring 10 unusal side show acts and Texas

Tommy’s Wild West Review. Don’t miss returning favorites like the Show Me Safari Petting Zoo and Swine

Races or Jingles the Clown providing free face painting and balloon art. Camel rides will also be available

for an additional fee. Crazy Bout Crawfish restaurant from Breaux Bridge will be on-site daily selling

delicious boiled crawfish in the all new Crawfish Village area along with other local food and merchandise

vendors.


Join us for Kettlebells for Kids on Saturday, May 25th, under the CAJUNDOME canopy! This event features

a crossfit workout that raises awareness and proceeds to fund fitness equipment and events for the homeless

Don’t miss LOUDfest on Sunday, May 26, presented by Classic Rock 105.1, featuring 15 local rock, punk,

and metal bands competing in a Battle of the Bands event for the top honor and grand prize. Tickets available

online and at the CAJUNDOME Box Office in advance for only $10 and includes admission onto the

fairgrounds. Don’t miss a special reunion show by the band Liquid Sand and a performance by Grammy

nominee Brother Dege to close out the show. Special thanks to event sponsors Music Academy of Acadiana,

On the second weekend of the fair, Lafayette Roofing and Social Entertainment present the Southern Fried

Showdown at the Fair, featuring 10 local restaurants selling some wild and deep fried southern delicacies

sure to tease your palette and leave you wanting more. The Showdown will take place from 12pm-9pm as

restaurants compete for the coveted Fan Favorite award.
