Summer Reading Program: Libraries ROCK!
Are you ready to ROCK this summer? Children up to 12 years old can join our Libraries ROCK! Summer Reading Program, now through July 31 at any Lafayette Public Library location. They can participate in any of the multiple free programs like storytelling, puppetry, crafts, dance, drawing, plays, bubbles, music and more. There will be one level of prizes, based on reading minutes and challenges. Pick up a reading log from the library or log online at LafayettePublicLibrary.org. The main prize is an inflatable Libraries ROCK! guitar and a chance to win a grand prize bicycle!
The Teen and Adult Summer Reading Programs also take place now through July 31. Teens and adults will receive a special prize when they register. Then, when they either read five books OR read two books and complete three activities, they will receive a fun bag of goodies. They will also be eligible to win weekly prizes. Programs for teens and adults will include anime programs, workshops, gaming and challenge programs, crafts, gardening, coloring, escape rooms and movies. Summer Reading Kickoff Celebration
The Main Library will host the Libraries ROCK! Summer Reading Kickoff Celebration on Saturday, June 2 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. In addition to the live performances, kids can enjoy a fun jump, crafts, community fun with downtown organizations, and more. We’ll have food trucks selling a variety of treats. Also joining us, for the first time, is the Bicycle Safety Festival<https://www.facebook.com/events/2147870278769632/> in Parc Putnam.
