Macaroni Kid's 2nd Annual Summer Camp Guide

It's here, The Summer Camp/Program Guide for 2016! Acadiana has so much to offer our children and we are ecstatic to help spread the word.

"On Voyage Dans le Temps à Vermilionville: It Takes a Village" - Our campers will enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing and canoeing and hands-on craft projects such as seedling packets, Cajun triangles, talking sticks and more. The campers will also learn about the Acadian, Creole and Native American cultures with our artisans who will be leading activities with them, such as tomahawk-throwing with Chief Mayeux and cooking demonstrations with the chefs from Vermilionville's on-site restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman. Campers will get to take home all the projects they make, including journals they will write in daily, culturally-themed coloring sheets, etc. French language vocabulary is incorporated into all camp sessions, but weeks 3 and 4 are conducted entirely in French.

Nutty Scientists of Acadiana Summer Camp - At Nutty Scientists of Acadiana, our summer camps are specially designed "Scienceful Art Workshops" and "Cool Inventions Projects" so kids can learn science-related concepts in a fun and unique way! They'll learn about the wonders of space, discover mysteries of medical science, build amazing structures, and so much more!!

South Louisiana Gymnastics Camp - SoLa Gym is offering 3 full weeks of Summer Camp and 2 three day camps. The three day camps will be the first three days after school lets out and the last three days before school starts up again. These days will be perfect for those parents who need childcare when most camps and daycares take a break. The full week camps will be perfect for those kids who want to have fun at a gymnastics camp learning gymnastics skills and enjoying fun Summer activities.

Clayfish Bisque Summer Art Camps -
At our camps, kids will have the opportunity to make new friends while painting and/or working with clay to create lasting keepsakes. The kids will be taught by our workers who will guide them step by step through the basics while also allowing them the opportunity to let their own creativity take control.

Camp in the City - Camp in the City is Pine Cove's summer day camp program right in your neighborhood! Start the summer off with a bang with some of the most fun and exciting camp activities, like water slides, bungee trampoline, a climbing wall and more!! Campers will experience Jesus through Bible study, worship, and time with their counselor.

Kidcam Camps of Lafayette - With 2 locations in Youngsville and Downtown Lafayette, Kidcam Camps offers a full-summer program with flexible registration options. Select only the weeks you need. Pay by the week, or in advance for discounts. Accepting boys and girls ages 3-13. Free morning care 7-9; aftercare available from 3pm-6pm.

Super Kids' Quest @ The Little Gym - Super Kids' Quest Summer Camp is an entirely new, adventure filled 3-hour camp offered by The Little Gym for child ages 3-8 yrs. Each camp theme is based on fun, exciting missions or "Quests" that the kids are challenged to complete each day!

Crawfish Aquatics Summer Swim Lessons - Lafayette's Year Round, Total Swimming Program! We teach basic lifesaving skills, swimming skills and technical stroke skills (as a swimmer progresses). We use a progressive teaching format set in a motivational and enjoyable setting. We offer CrawBaby classes for swimmers between 6 months and 2 years of age. We also offer groups lessons for swimmers 2 years and older!

Louisiana Christian School Summer Camp - We offer camp Monday through Friday. Children play activities and arts and crafts here on campus throughout the day and also daily offsite activities.

Summer Art Camp & Mini Art Camp 3D - LaToscana’ Studio & Gallery Summer art camp is a 5 day camp: arts, crafts and on last day edible art & Mini Art Camp 3D is a 3 day camp of painting only.

Vacation Station @ Sugar 'n Spice - Four Locations Throughout Acadiana: Social Interaction is at the forefront of our summer camp. The children attend exciting Field Trips Daily with swimming at least once per week, participate in a Talent Show and Competition. Our exciting Field Trip destinations include: Skyzone, Jumpzone, Crawfish Aquatics, Candyland Cottage, Lafayette Science Museum,Children’s Museum, Zoosiana, Acadian Village, Youngsville Sports Complex, City Club at River Ranch,Johnson Space Center in Houston and Much More!!!!

ESA Summer - ESA Summer offers adventures in art, music, theater, athletics, science, math, writing, cooking and much more. Adventure Awaits!

City Club Youth Sports Camp - Children ages 4-14 will enjoy this fun-filled sports camp at City Club. Activities of focus include tennis, soccer, karate, arts & crafts and more! Campers are split into age groups to maximize the fun!

Summer at the Bayou - At The Bayou Church, we provide FIVE unique summer camp experiences to reach every age of the family. Each camp is focused on one thing—helping families build stronger relationships with God and each other.

Just 4 Kicks Summer Camp - The Just 4 Kicks Soccer Camp is considered to be “One of Acadiana’s Best Offerings for Kids.” For the past 26 years, David Chaney and his wonderful staff of coaches, have been teaching children from the Acadiana area the fundamentals of soccer, in a Fun, Safe and Positive environment. Children who attend the Just 4 Kicks Soccer camp are taught everything they need to know about soccer, including passing, trapping, dribbling and shooting, as well as heading, crossing and so much more!

Top Stitch Sewing School - Students will learn the basics of the sewing machine, fabric layout, elastic casings, hemming and more. Three projects will be completed at the beginner level.

Morgan Street Dance Company - Summer Line-Up - Morgan Street Dance Company is offering three amazing camps this summer all in the month of June. Acadiana Animal Aid's Adventure Camp - During this week of activities, kids will interact with puppies and kittens, paint craft projects, have fun outdoors on our 10 acre facility, speak to veterinarians, and learn about the basic care of owning an animal!

Learning Adventures Summer Camp - Children ages 5-12 will have their own space to enjoy their summer! The children will have outside play time daily, play games, make crafts, view magic shows, and attend weekly field trips!

Pottery Alley Kid's Camp - Fire up your creativity and join the fun at Pottery Alley's 2016 Summer Kid’s Camps, designed for ages 7 and up! Campers expand their imaginations and explore the exciting world of clay through a wide range of projects and building techniques.

Free Programs:


Kid’s Bowl Free Program – Acadiana Lanes– Registered kids receive 2 free games of bowling per day. All summer long! A $500 value per child! Bowling centers, schools and other community organizations work together to launch a super summer activity option for kids and families.

Kid's Skate Free Program -

LSU Continuing Education - Reading Skills and Speed Reading Programs for Children and Adults - Classes meet once each week in Lafayette at South Louisiana Community College and at Lafayette Science Museum.
