Blackout Brunch Shines a Light on Heart Defects

October 1, 2015

Turns out, it’s OK to be in the dark sometimes. It may even help a great cause. Camp Bon Coeur has organized its first-ever Blackout Brunch — a daytime gathering with the energy of a late night bash — to support families affected by congenital heart defects.

The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Feed & Seed, 103 N. Grant Street. Tickets are $45 each for the brunch and party ($20 for party only) and available at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/blackout-brunch-tickets-18366022267

The downtown venue will “pull the shades” and dim the lights to create the party atmosphere. Blackout Brunch features a DJ to help set the mood, as well as gourmet food, champagne and mimosas.

The nonprofit organization helps children with heart defects grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially while learning lifelong coping skills. Camp Bon Coeur offers summer camps for children and provides ongoing support for families and adults.
